To Join the Redes En Acción Network . . .
If you're involved in Latino cancer research, training or public education -- or a related field -- Redes En Acción invites you to join our network. Redes En Acción makes every attempt to take a participatory approach in our network activities by involving community groups and coalitions, researchers, and public health professionals to stimulate cancer control research, training and education to reduce cancer health disparities. Many of our programs and activities rely on input from a variety of community-based stakeholders in Latino cancer control.
For instance, our study of 600 community key informants was directly responsible for the cancer control research priorities that have guided our pilot projects and other research interests. Other projects, such as the Hispanic/Latino Genetics Community Consultation Network, were developed under the guidance of Latinos with a wide spectrum of interests from across the U.S. Also, our membership currently includes >2,400 different partners, including community representatives who participate in diverse roles, such as assisting in the design of entire programs, designing surveys, providing input on community health agenda settings, and receiving critical cancer control education programs and other information.
To join the Redes En Acción national network and begin receiving the monthly E-Alert with both regional and national "news-you-can-use" with regard to Latinos and cancer, as well as the Redes Report quarterly e-newsletter containing updates on Redes regional site project activities and other Latino cancer issues, please click on the Redes icon to complete an online form providing us with your contact information.
